Paul is the head of Engineering and Product Delivery (EMEA) for Advantech, an 8000-person multi-national company headquartered in Taiwan.

Over the last 10 years, Paul has built a centre-of-excellence in product development, project management, software engineering and product delivery from Oranmore, Co. Galway.

During this time, through his association with the IRDG, Paul discovered the power and applicability of Design Thinking to the product development and delivery process. As somebody who is passionate about process and product innovation, and in enabling and empowering the talented people in his organisation to reach their potential, he embraced the methods of Design Thinking and introduced them into the existing (but ever evolving) Agile product development and delivery processes for Advantech Europe.

Paul’s past achievements include the award of Intel Foundation Scholar for excellence in software engineering disciplines. Paul holds a patent for innovation in Building Area Networks, and has a number of IEEE publications. In September 2019 he completed an MSc in Design Innovation from the University of Maynooth.

Paul is happily married to Eleanor, and has 3 wonderful children under the age of 13.
