Francesca Sorgini received the M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from La Sapienza University (Rome, Italy) in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in Biorobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy) in 2018. In 2017 she moved to Ireland where she worked in the
Institute of Neuroscience of Trinity College (Dublin) as part of her Ph.D. research project about haptic devices for sensory augmentation and substitution.

In 2018 she shifted her focus to flow sensing technology and started her position at Coroflo as R&D Engineer. In Coroflo she is working on the “Coro”, a smart nipple shield for the accurate measurement of milk flow during breastfeeding to help mothers who are struggling
with feeding their babies. She is the author of 6 conference and journal publications and holds two patents.
